Product Information

Introduction

Cenosphere are lightweight, inert hollow spheres of silica and alumina, which naturally occurs in the combustion of coal.

Due to their unique combination of low specific gravity, spherical shape, high compression, good thermal and acoustical insulation properties, Cenosphere are being used for various industrial applications.

Cenosphere are chemically inert & are reclaimable and labeled as “Environmentally sound”.

Utility

The spherical shape of Cenosphere improves flowability in most applications and provides an even distribution of the filler material.  The natural properties of Cenospheres make it possible to use them either in dry or wet slurry form.  Cenosphere are easy to handle and provide a low surface area-to-volume ratio.  Due to their inert properties, solvents, water, acids or alkalis do not affect them.  Cenosphere are lighter than other minerals or resins currently used as a filler or extender.

Tangible and Intangible Benefits:

(i) Reduced Raw Materials cost
(ii) Reduced Resin Demand
(iii) Resistant to Resin Absorption
(iv) Improved Flowability
(v) Improved Insulation Values
(vi) Reduced End Product Weight
